All or Nothing Eating

Ever tried to go on a diet?  Well diets work and they don’t work.  What is going to be discussed here is going to be somewhere in between.  There are two extreme opinions on this.  There super the super strict diet which you can not eat any foods that you like, and then there is the opinions that diets don’t work at all.  Again both of them are correct!

You can make “dieting” work and be enjoyable!

The first step is to eliminate the thought that you have to be on an extremely strict diet to lose weight.  The fact is that most people who are successful losing weight don’t go on strict diets to lose weight.  Instead, they make permanent life style changes like cutting back on refined sugars such as cakes, candy bars, sodas and instead eat more vegetables as part of their diets.

The second step is to take out one day a week to satisfy your cravings.  Now don’t go out and have a whole pie of pizza with a dozen donuts.  You can have a slice of pizza, donut or a coke once per week but just have it in a smaller amount.

The third step is to stop thinking about going on a diet.  People say that they are going to be on “this diet” and “that diet”.  Dieting in and dieting out can not be too healthy for you.  You don’t want to be too restrictive with a type of food.  You need a variety of foods for nutritional reasons.

The fourth is once you have fallen out of the wagon, just don’t give up.  Let say that when you were doing great, and suddenly you were at a restaurant with friends and you couldn’t resist a piece of cheese cake.  You have a piece of it, it doesn’t mean that later on that night, or tomorrow you can eat all you want because you already have “failed” at the dieting effort.  Remember, you can minimize the damage that has happened.

The last step is reward yourself for small amounts of accomplishments.  Don’t go out and have a whole cake but instead treat yourself something nice like a low fat cheese cake instead.

Thus, take it easy on yourself.  After all you are only human.  No body
